Renewing My Mind

Day CI

Today dear brothers and sisters our scriptures is about renewing our mind and declare to make it pure for holiness. I want to share this part of Scripture Confessions I declare everyday. For your information there is this booklet named Scripture Confessions that composed of prayers/declarations. I believed and it is proven that when we read the words of prayer aloud, hearing our voice and speaking them out to our soul and spirit. It is like given them an instruction what to do for the day or for that moment. This is very effective and it is proven that it does give a remarkable result. I will add these confessions everyday so that you also can share the blessings from these.

Instructions: Before you read aloud pray that these words become the food for your spirit and help your inner man in its being powerful in spirit.

I dedicate my self to renewing my mind by reading, meditating and speaking God's Word. It is my desire to keep my mind pure and clear from anything that would hurt or weaken me spiritually. I think on things that are pure, lovely, just, of a good report, virtuous and praiseworthy.

I choose to think about good things I refuse thoughts that are inappropriate. I cast down vain imaginations. I will not let doubt, worry, or fear pollute my mind. I will be quick to respond to wrong thoughts and desires by replacing them with proper thoughts and by speaking God's Word over my life.

I refuse to fill my mind with the poison of gossip, backbiting, and jealousy. I will guard and protect my mind by not watching, reading or listening to anything that is not pleasing to the Lord. I make a quality decision to meditate on God's Word and to keep my mind pure and undefiled, that I might be receptive to God's voice and ever ready to do His will.

I consecrate my mind, my will and my emotions to God, for His Service.

Scriptures:

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

2 Corinthians 10:5 and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.

Worship that pleases God

Day XCCIX

Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’

Today our words of wisdom comes from the book of Rick Warren - The Purpose Driven Life. As he have said:
God wants all from us. God does not want a part of our life. He asks for all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind and all of our strength.

He have mentioned Four characteristics of worship saying.
  1. God is pleased when our worship is accurate
  2. God is pleased when our worship is authentic
  3. God is pleased when our worship is thoughtful
  4. God is pleased when our worship is practical
He have said that when we worship as Jesus told the Samaritan woman,"True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks," To "worship in truth" means to worship God as he is truly revealed in the Bible.

When Jesus Said we must "worship in spirit" he wasn't referring to the Holy Spirit, but our spirit. Made in God's image, we are a spirit that resides in a body, and God designed our spirit to communicate with Him. Worship is our spirit responding to God's Spirit.

When Jesus said, "Love God with all your heart and soul" he meant that worship must be genuine and heartfelt. The Bible says, "Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart."

Jesus command to "Love God with all your mind" is repeated four times in the New Testament. We should be  fully aware and specific with our knowledge how we worship God.

The Snare of Envy

Day XCVIII

Today again brothers and sisters we will get the message of the Lord from the book of Thomas a Kephis "Come Lord Jesus a devotional readings from "The Imitation of Christ edited for Toda's reader by David Hazard.

Proverbs 14:30 A tranquil spirit revives the body,
but envy is rottenness to the bones.

The most miserable person on earth is the man or woman who does not know to turn to God - or how to draw from God all that soul needs to live. They are easily disturbed, easily driven to fear and anxiety, easily driven to self-pity and dissatisfaction.

Why are these people so easily troubled?

It is because they cannot control circumstances or get life to turn out exactly the way they want it to. Also because they cannot have exactly what they want. They're constantly looking at others, thinking, Look at him. He's had all the advantages. But I have to work so hard, and I don't get the rewards. It's not fair. Or she's so gifted. So talented. Everyone just loves her. Why did God not bless me in that way?

Well, I would love to meet these "specially blessed" people who have "so many advantages" you don't have. Where are they? Show me one.

No one who lives in this world can avoid hardship, loss, trouble, sickness, or heartache. Not even a king or pope himself.

I'll tell you the source of our trouble. We imagine that a perfect someone else learned how to find more "favor" with God than you do - or that God chooses certain "favorites," while He mistreats or ignores others. The whole basis of our thinking is wrong because we equate worldly comforts - health, money good looks, great opportunities - with spiritual blessing.

The one who is most favored by God is one who has been taught by the Spirit how to bear all things with patience and joy, for the sake of knowing God better. This man or woman is powerful in spirit, and they overcome every hardship or loss with grace, strength, and brilliance from within They have favor with God because they are humble and easy for Him to direct, so He can quickly show them how to turn their suffering and loss into victory.

If you want to say weak in spirit, caught in a snare of envy that rips our soul apart, then keep praying as we praying: Look at so-and-so. He has everything - wealth, power, position, people admire him - and on top of all that, he's great looking. How is that fair, God?

But if you want to escape Satan's trap, then fix the eyes of your soul on the goodness of God himself, as He orders all things... and who gives eternal rewards that do not decay and crumble like these earthly things you value so much. Only in the light of eternal things will you be able to see reality as it is - to see that the things we are tempted to envy will fail, and soon pass away.

Let us pray:

Father, it's so easy for me to envy someone who seems to have "everything" - or to think you've treated me unfairly when someone has been given advantages I don't have.

Help me to take my eyes off other people - their possessions, position, power or looks. By your Spirit, open my eyes to see your amazing wisdom... to know and accept the pat you've chosen for me... even if it leads through pain loss, impairment, and being ignored by others.

Only let me know your living presence with me.. and that will be enough. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

The Snare of Pleasure

Day XCVII

Today brothers and sisters we will get the message of the Lord from the book of Thomas a Kephis "Come Lord Jesus a devotional readings from "The Imitation of Christ edited for Toda's reader by David Hazard.

2 Timothy 3:1 But understand this, that in the last days difficult times will come.  2 For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, opposed to what is good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God.

Do you think your soul is secure and immovable - not as long as we are in this life. Haven't you ever known a man or woman who seems good and spiritual - and then see them fall away from God?

The person who thinks they will never gall suffers even greater damage when they slip. You remain humble and depend on God for every moment of your soul's safety and strength. Only in this humble spirit do you stand a change of avoiding the snares of the evil one.

And here is a hidden snare we must avid:

Many Christians allow themselves to daydream about pleasures they know are forbidden. They think, I am not acting on these thoughts. So what does it hurt? They are already many steps down the road, deep in enemy territory.

Before we know it, Satan has mesmerized us using our own appetites. He has led us out of our fantasies into real indulgence. He has stirred our flesh, and our senses have move us out of the realm of the spirit and into the world where we are left to grub out a few moments of pleasure. But what you desire is shiny illusions, dangled before our eyes. In the end, we do not experience the inner delight we thought sin would give us. In fact, we are empty and cold within, slinking back home with guilt and remorse. We have burned our conscience and shattered the peace of our soul.

It is often said: "A few moments of happiness tonight - a heartful of ache and sorrow in the morning."

So it is - with empty illusions that promise satisfaction - Satan hypnotizes and leads astray. So it is he leads us out from the presence, safety, and fulfillment that is in God - out to were his dark forces can gnaw on our soul with the teeth of regret, bitterness and sorrow.

Let us pray:

Father, keep me alert to the voice that whispers inside, "What does it matter if you indulge these thoughts?" Let me see through the shinny illusions - and see the snare that lies beyond.

Teach me, Father, how to let you give me what my soul really needs to live: respect... acceptance... integrity... love a "home" in your heart.

Keep me from following after evil.

Useless Works

Day XCVI

Matthew 6:2 Thus whenever you do charitable giving, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in synagogues and on streets so that people will praise them. I tell you the truth, they have their reward. 3 But when you do your giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your gift may be in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

Today dear brothers and sisters may we take this message from our God. May this teaching be part of our inner man and do it wholeheartedly. Ever had a situation when you did something that turns out to be a waste of time and effort? This is the same situation when we do something thinking it is for God (actually it may be just a show) that we do a charitable work.

God is clear about this and we have to obediently obey. Dear brother and sisters may we not go into the trap of the enemy that we are deceived thinking we helped for good reason/purpose. May we always look into our hearts before giving for God only accepts a joyful giver. How could we know? When you feel you have doubt, when you felt the money is too big for you to give, when you question the other person/the receiver about your giving, when you do charitable work because you are thinking this favor will get reward from the other person or someone in authority and other confusion that question whether to give or not. These are the things that complicate the work for charity. How can we change it? We can fight it by saying NO to these thoughts and ask God to give you the charitable heart willing to give. Let him direct you to the right decision and consult God for your action. Lift up to God your doubt and ask him to give you the cheerful heart in giving because we should remember that when we give its a privileged because we don't do it to them but we did it to Jesus. Think of this thought - think that this is a test that an angel or Jesus Christ went in the form of human/worldly things that test our response. Best of all let us do it in secret cause what we do in secret, God sees them.

Surrender - The heart of Worship

Day XCV

Romans 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires, 13 and do not present your members to sin as instruments to be used for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments to be used for righteousness.

Dear brothers and sisters the only way we can live a full life with God is when we surrendered everything for HIM. The words for today to me and for you is to remind us that surrender not a portion of ourselves but our whole being to be used for his purpose. God seeks for true worshipers and the heart of true worship is when we fully submit ourselves to his will and direction.

It may be hard to give it all but when we stand firm and decide to let God take control, we would understand and see that anything that surrendered to him results perfectly. God is a great God! He can do amazing things for you and me. We just need to let him do it.
