Perseverance in our path to Righteousness

Day V

Perseverance as it is defined: –noun

1.
steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state,etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, ordiscouragement.
2.
Theology continuance in a state of grace to the end, leading to eternal salvation.

Today, I would like to talk about how to continue our commitment to walk the right path. Again, first we create that need BELIEVE THAT WE NEED JESUS and he saved us to live with him, second - we choose the right path, third we get help from The Father, The Son Jesus which is our Holy Spirit (our helper). Yesterday we talked about what is inevitable which is our struggle to sin. Today, I will support it with scriptures that would strengthen our commitment.

As it was defined Perseverance is another armor that we should have in our journey to righteousness. Friends, I am also like you living in this wicked world - slave in this sinful body BUT I am focus to perfect my life for Jesus. As we commit ourselves to righteousness, when we die DAILY or moment by moment to be together with Jesus and  live with him.

In the book of Romans it was illustrated well.

Romans 7

1 Or do you not know, brothers and sisters1 (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law is lord over a person as long as he lives? 2 For a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of the marriage. 3 So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress. 4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires, aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, because we have died to what controlled us, so that we may serve in the new life of the Spirit and not under the old written code.

Having that said, as we are now living in Union with Christ we are married with Him. We are now bound to our commitment and responsibility to do what pleases our partner. Just like couples they talked, they care with each other, they show compassion to each other and LOVE each other dearly. By the way did you know that the Bible define what love is?

1 Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.5 It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.  6 It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

 8 Love never ends.

Proverbs 10

     12 Hatred stirs up dissension,
but love covers all transgressions. - just as how Jesus Died for YOU AND FOR ME.

1 Corinthians 10
24 Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person. this is being selfless - just like our partner Jesus who did it for us

Philippians 2
4 Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well.

1 Peter 4
8 Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins. FORGIVENESS - for God so love the world that he gave is ONLY SON for US.

See?! That's the power of the Bible it gives us wisdom and truth. Now, is it not favorable to love them back?! The Father Loves us even before you knew it! Jesus with his arms wide open shows and suffers because of HIS unmeasurable LOVE for us. They give us Holy Spirit to be our helper to do the right thing?! It is only a foolish that cannot understand the value of RETURNING THE LOVE. Friends God loves us so much! Is it not our part to love HIM back? Even a sinful father shows love to someone. Think about it.

Going back, in our commitment to Jesus to be righteous we should live like married individuals HAVING our responsibility to our partner.

Do you know the REWARDS of this relationship? Of course we are loved back, peace and great things. But that is what I feel. Now let us see what the bible would say.

Romans 8

28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose, 29 because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.
31 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things?  33 Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.  35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”   37 No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That is just one part of our REWARDS. We will talk about the great things God gives to those who love HIM. Glory be His Name and His Kingdom!

Friends, again at some point in our lives we will surrender to something or someone. Seek for the right ONE, be hungry to the greatness in God's presence. May you have the wisdom of understanding and truth.

God bless you and may others be blessed by you.
