Do Not Be Yoked With Unbelievers

Day VII

For our daily devotion from God I was given these scriptures. From 2 Corinthians 6

14 Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

Deut 7:2; and he delivers them over to you and you attack them, you must utterly annihilate them. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy!

1Cor 5:9; I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.

1Sam 5:1-2; 1Now the Philistines had captured the ark of God and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

Kgs 8:21; and set up in it a place for the ark containing the covenant the LORD made with our ancestors when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

1Cor 10:21; You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

Eph 5:11; Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

15 And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? 16 And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

1Cor 10:7; So do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play

1Cor 10:14; So then, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

1Cor 3:16; Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

1Cor 6:19; Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Eph 2:21; In him the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

Heb 3:6; But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. We are of his house, if in fact we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.

1Pet 2:5; you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ

Exod 29:45; I will reside among the Israelites, and I will be their God,

Lev 26:11; “‘I will put my tabernacle in your midst and I will not abhor you

Ezek 37:26; I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be a perpetual covenant with them. I will establish them, increase their numbers, and place my sanctuary among them forever

17 Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you,

Isa 52:11; ​​​​​​Leave! Leave! Get out of there!
       Don’t touch anything unclean!
       Get out of it!
       Stay pure, you who carry the LORD’s holy items!

Rev 18:4; Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, so you will not take part in her sins and so you will not receive her plagues,

18 and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the All-Powerful Lord.  

Jer 31:1; ​​​​​​At that time I will be the God of all the clans of Israel
       and they will be my people.
       I, the LORD, affirm it!”

Friends, as we live our lives in union with Christ we move away from our old self. We renew ourselves with righteousness and by doing that we should walk the right path. In doing the right thing we need to associate ourselves with believers who does righteousness. They are the kind of people who can strengthen us and help us grow spiritually. In the contrary, we should not associate ourselves with the work of the devil including with wicked people who would be able to influence our action and question our belief.

Again, brothers and sister the easiest way not to sin is to move away from them. We are only putting ourselves in destruction if we associate with them. Just remember who are you trying to please? Them or our Lord? In the end all of us will die the only thing that is eternal is our relationship with God and He can give us eternal life to be with him? Let us live in the light for he is in the light. As of parents reminded us stay away from bad influence!

May we have that strength to say NO with these people. Never let ourselves placed in the situation where there is no escape but leads to destruction. Let us guard our faith always - always pray for strength and protection.
