Day LIX
For this day the word of the lord is about Patience in Suffering. Let us read the words and interact with it after.
James 5
7 So be patient, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s return. Think of how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient for it until it receives the early and late rains. 8 You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be judged. See, the judge stands before the gates! 10 As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name. 11 Think of how we regard as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and you have seen the Lord’s purpose, that the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
Patience is a tough word for most of us. Especially for me, these days the greatest learning/test for me is learning PATIENCE. Most of the time we wanted to get things as easy as possible. Most of the time we are impatient in the things we wanted or wished for. Most of all in times of trouble, suffering and challenges we are very concerned when it would end. We seek for better situation and pray earnestly to have a good life. Friends there would be times again and again that the lord would test our patience. He would do it consistently for us to learn it in time and be part of our personality. Patience is a great virtue and it gives us endurance and hope. Let us remember the situation of Job who for the longest time suffered so much, feel abandoned and bitter. Of all people Job is the perfect example of a person who would need patience to endure and to hope for good future. When time seemed so tough and our prayers seemed bouncing off the ceiling let us do what Job did. He still hoped and keep his faith to endure suffering because he knows God is a merciful God and would answer him. As God shows his great compassion to his son and how he return things when he sees that our faith is great we can be sure that our future is clear when we have faith in our Lord.
