Day XXXIX
Today we will get encouragement and teaching form the letter of Apostle Paul to the Thessalonian.
1 Thessalonians 5
12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who labor among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them most highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all. 15 See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. 16 Always rejoice, 17 constantly pray 18 in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not extinguish the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21 But examine all things; hold fast to what is good. 22 Stay away from every form of evil.
Brothers and Sisters let us stop and think of these instructions. 1. Let us acknowledge the work of those who are doing things for God - let us always respect them. For me no matter what religion they are in they deserve our respect - we do not know what is in their heart and how God would use them for his purpose. Let us remember that whoever is for God should be our brother. Also let us not judge them for we should not be tempted to sit on a judgement seat and decide what is wrong or right. Our judgement is base on our standards which is limited. Only God can judge our work and theirs.
2. Let us help the weak, comfort the discouraged and be patient to all. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Remember the commandment - Love thy neighbor as you love yourself.
3. Worship always! In worship we praise God, give highest respect to God, give thanks, we constantly pray and we do things as if we are doing it for God.
4. Let us live by the work of the spirit - Love, patience, self-control, perseverance, trust, gentleness etc. See other post that teaches us to live by spirit.
5. Let us always in focus to do Good and avoid evil.
May these words be written in our hearts and guide us in our journey to righteousness. Amen!
